A day of printing in the studio. In this day workshop you’ll learn the basics of printing with Lino. We’ll cover everything you need to take your very own print home with you!

Lovely Lino Day Workshop Itinerary

This day course is a fun introduction to the endless possibilities of lino printing. The morning session will focus on how to create and transfer your design onto the lino block. If you have items that interest and inspire you, then feel free to bring them along. These could be cut-outs, photographs, patterns, flowers, basically: anything you like! I’ll also have lots of visual inspiration at the workshop so don’t worry if you don’t have anything to bring along. Another great place to head is Instagram or Pinterest, just search for “lino prints” and this will give you endless inspiration. I’ll guide you through cutting techniques and tips and pointers for a great print, then you’ll carve your design. After lunch, we’ll set about printing your designs. The session aims to give you the skills to be able to carry on lino printing at home with minimal equipment.

What’s included in the price?

• All materials for the workshop are included. This includes a set of cutting tools, lino, printing ink & a variety of paper to print your designs on. Please note that we’ll be using a safe-wash ink which can take up to 10 days to dry. Participants are welcome to collect their work from the studio once dry or pay a small postage fee to have their work delivered (you can of course take your work home on the day to dry at home) 

• Printing is messy (that’s part of the fun!) please wear suitable clothing i.e. things you don’t mind getting ink on and/an apron.

• Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided in the morning and in the afternoon they’ll be cake. Please bring your own packed lunch or alternatively, there are cafes and a bakery in town that you can pop up to if you’d prefer.

• The workshop will be in my studio & gallery at Number 13, Ship St Brecon. It can get chilly there, so do bring a jumper. 

• Participants are encouraged to bring along items that inspire them, this could be anything, things like photographs, flowers, magazine-cuttings or patterns would be great. I’ll also have a box of inspiration if you don’t have anything to hand or you’re traveling light.

Minimum Numbers

Each workshop needs to run at a minimum number of participants, this is to ensure a happy, creative atmosphere and also to ensure its viability. In the event the workshop date doesn’t reach capacity a week before its date, I’ll let you know and you’ll be able to roll on your course fee to the next suitable date or I’ll refund the cost.

All workshops and classes can be gifted as a voucher for a loved one. If you’d like a voucher then head to then head back to the Art Classes tab in the main menu and scroll down to the Gift Of Art Voucher. They can then choose which class they’d like to attend.

Private Events

I also host events for private groups, so if you’re visiting the area with a group please feel free to get in touch to discuss holding a workshop on a date that suits your visit. You can join me in the studio or if suitable, I can come to you.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that cancellations must be made four weeks before the start of the course, if you’re unable to attend please let me know as soon as possible. The course fee will be refunded in full if cancellation occurs before four weeks of the workshop date.

In the event you need to cancel within four weeks of the workshop occurrence then I’ll happily provide a voucher for you to use at a future class &/or workshop. Please note that I am unable to refund the class cost for cancellations made within four weeks of a workshop.
